When a Night Ski is held, skiers meet in the Raccoon Run Winter Sports Center, at Shelter 3, located in the Big Oaks area. Skiers would enjoy ski trails at night at Riverbend! The Hancock Park District were offering night skis during the snow season, as long as there were good snow conditions with a snow base of 4 inches or more. Some areas would be lit by luminaries along the way through the snowy trails. All skiers needed to do was show up at the Raccoon Run Winter Sports Center and bring $5 if you have your own ski equipment, or $10 if ski equipment rental was needed. This event was not recommended for first time skiers or for younger children.

It is suggested that all participants wear layered clothing, including hats and gloves to keep you warm and dry. Children were required to be at least 8 years of age with a participating adult. Ski rates (including equipment rental) was $12 per person. Register with payment was required by noon the Friday before each workshop at the HPD office.
