Dog Park - Grand OpeningIn September 2000, the Hancock Park District, Hancock Parks Foundation, Blanchard Valley Dog Owners Group and Humane Society of Hancock County joined efforts to open the first K-9 Field of Dreams Dog Park in Hancock County at Riverbend Recreation Area.   This “pilot project” has been extremely successful since it originally opened.

Currently, the off-leash dog run is undergoing some renovations to make the site even better than before.  At this time, only the east side of the one acre site is now open.  New drainage was added to the entire area and there are some disturbed areas of turf to be aware of.  Water will be available for users on the east side.  The west side will continue to be closed until further notice to allow re-seeding to establish.

Riverbend Dog Park - Dog RunDue to the reduction in size of the Dog Park , a new restriction has been implemented.  Dog handlers are only allowed to bring one (1) dog at a time into the area.   HPD asks for your cooperation during this transitional time and apologizes for any inconvenience.

Users need to be aware of current DOG PARK RULES AND REGULATIONS and must comply.  All State of Ohio laws, according to the Ohio Revised Code, also apply. PIT BULL DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE THE DOG PARK UNLESS REQUIREMENTS, ACCORDING TO THE OHIO REVISED CODE, ARE MET.  Download PIT BULL DOG RULES  as they pertain to the K-9 Field of Dreams Dog Park.  Violation of these laws is a 1st degree misdemeanor and you will be cited.

We ask that all Dog Park users be RESPONSIBLE DOG WALKERS when using the facility or when visiting any other park areas.  Failure to comply may result in privileges being revoked. We hope that you and your dog(s) will continue to use and enjoy the Dog Park for many years to come.  If you have any problems or concerns please fee free to contact the HPD office at 419-425-7275 during normal business hours (M-F, 8:00am – 4:30pm) or after hours please page a Service Ranger at 419-412-4924.
