
Activity Permits
A variety of activity permits are available through the HPD office to make your visits to the parks system more enjoyable. A complete Activity Permit Schedule and HPD Facilities Information Rate Card, which contains additional activity permit information, is located at the bottom of this page to download.
Camping Permit: Visitors using the class “C” primitive campground located at Riverbend must obtain a permit in advance of camping. Tent camping only with picnic tables, fire rings, pit-type latrines, trash containers and waste water drains located nearby. No electrical hook-ups. Cost is $2 per person, per night.
Fire Permit: A Fire Permit is required for anyone burning wood in HPD locations/facilities. Whether camping or using a facility with a fireplace. HPD will provide firewood with the purchase of the permit. No firewood may be brought from other locations into any HPD location/facility. Fire permits are available to individuals/groups that are renting HPD facilities, except persons using the Riverbend campground for the purposes of an evening campfire and are not staying overnight. Cost is $5 per site, per day.

Dog Park Permit: No longer required after January 1, 2008. However, current rules and regulations will still be in effect and must be complied with. Failure to comply may result in your privileges being revoked. We hope that you and your dog(s) will continue to use and enjoy the Dog Park for many years to come. Litzenberg Hunting with Permission Lottery: Public hunting is available at Litzenberg Memorial Woods through a special “Hunting with Permission Lottery” conducted annually around the first part of August. Eligible participants include residents and land owners of Hancock County. The lottery is conducted with the cooperation of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and is publicized through local media notifying eligible participants. Hunting permits are issued free to those drawn in the annual lottery.
Litzenberg Sportsmen’s Daily Hunting Permits: Hunters not chosen or other non-eligible hunters in the annual Hunting Lottery are eligible to obtain a free daily hunting permit (Monday thru Thursday) at the HPD office.
Waterfowl Permit: Available for sportsmen at the HPD office in cooperation with the City of Findlay to hunt at the Findlay Reservoir Area. Permits are free.
