Board MembersBoard
As Hancock County’s principal outdoor recreation agency, the Hancock Park District has basic responsibilities for park and recreational resources.  Created by Hancock County Probate Court at the request of City of Findlay and Hancock County, the Hancock Park District was created in 1970 and is a special district of the State of Ohio.   Protection of our environment and improvement of outdoor recreation are major concerns of the Board of Park Commissioners.  The Board is composed of three individuals who serve three-year terms without compensation. They establish policy and approve budgets and expenditures for all Park District services, facilities, equipment and development projects. Board members are appointed by the Hancock County Probate Court Judge.

The Board meets monthly for public meetings, generally on the second Tuesday of each month at the “Doc” Phillips Discovery Center in Oakwoods Nature Preserve and public is welcome to attend.  Call the HPD office to confirm dates, time and location or check out the posting on our monthly calendar.
